Description: Discover the real story of a family in Gaza facing war, hardship, and daily challenges. Learn how your support and donations can help Gaza children and families survive and find hope.
Life in Gaza غزة is not like anywhere else. Our family – Ashqar Family – has faced unimaginable hardships, from losing our home to struggling for basic necessities like food, water, and electricity. Every day is a test of resilience and hope.
Morning begins with checking the children and making sure they are safe.
Sometimes, there is no electricity for hours.
Water is scarce, and we have to be careful about every drop.
Despite the challenges, we try to maintain a sense of normalcy for the children.
Our neighborhood was damaged during the conflict.
Schools were closed, and children’s education was disrupted.
Medical care is limited, and families struggle to access medicine.
The trauma affects everyone, young and old alike.
The bitter truth is that my children play in the sand; there are no toys in Gaza, and in fact, toys are banned from entering.
So I find my children playing with stones and among the rubble of homes damaged by the war. My four-year-old son, Kinan, has become addicted to playing with stones, sand, and the scrap metal piled up in the streets!
Note: All international organizations like: UNICEF Gaza , Save the Children in Gaza do not distribute toys to children, or they are not allowed to bring toys into the city.
We are not just numbers or statistics. We are a family, with dreams, fears, and hopes.
Your support, whether through donations or sharing our story, helps us survive and gives our children a chance for a brighter future.
